Portrait Study

This lovely young lady sat for this portrait earlier this year. The cool light coming in from the window on the right (her left) allowed me to keep the darks nice and warm, thus giving a pleasing contrast between light temperatures, and keeping the colours vibrant and fresh.
This is a detail of larger picture, which includes the shoulders. I took this photo when the painting was about 90 percent complete. The only things that changed from here on was a bit of the background, and some drapery.
